Jozsef Cirko was born in 17th April, 1954 at Budapest. He studied at the „Rippl-Rónai” Secondary School where he graduated in english-german special class. After his military service (1977-79) he graduated in the same school at a 3 year traffic engineer technican/manufactory engineer course organized by BME.
In 1980 he contacted with the movie-making at the MAFILM International Department.
Between 1983 and 1987 he worked at the „Népszerű és Tudományos” („Popular and Scientific”) film studio as a contributor. He work in more than 50 different production as a „gkv”, produciton assistant and producion supervisor. („Hazánk”/”Our Home Land” documentary, „Lutra” production and many more documentary and nature movie.).
In 1987 he worked at the MTV (Hungarian National Television) as a contributor and then he worked the first international film. („Christabel”/BBC).
From 1988 he work on his own in international co-productions (see below).
In 2003, he was one of the founder of the Hungarian Producer’s Assosiation, and he is a member of it till then.
From 2007 he is the member of the Hungarian Producer’s Legal Assosiation’s Comitee.
